PPR Teen2Parent Talk Series - “Helping Your Teen Relieve Pressure & Stress” (Show #24)

April 5, 2017

Studies show that teens of today have the same stress and anxiety level of a 1950’s psychiatric patient. Things that make you feel stressed are called "stressors." Stressors can be minor hassles, major lifestyle changes, or a combination of both. What are the major issues that are causing stress in our teens? School, Family, Physical & Emotional Change, Social Life, Time and Sports.

Our Guest, Lia Sepanek, is a third-year Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology Major at UCLA. She is currently in her second semester of a year abroad at the University of Sydney in Australia. She loves to travel, run, watch movies and tv, and talk about football. She describes herself as the most extroverted introvert you will ever meet meaning she is incredibly outgoing and loves meeting new people but she also NEEDS time by myself every day and has finally accepted that fact as a part of what makes her unique. She wants to be a surgeon and is excited about the years to come where that dream comes closer and closer to reality.
