PPR Teen2Parent Talk Series - Netflix Series “13 Reasons Why” (Show 39)

July 19, 2017

“13 Reasons Why,” is the new controversial Netflix series that centers on a high school student who kills herself. It is raising the alarms of parent groups and school officials have sent letters to parents warning them about what their children may be watching.

The show is fictional but it is extremely graphic, including several rape scenes, the actual suicide scene and it has raised significant concerns about the emotional safety of those watching it.

Our guest, Jacqueline Aquino, is a rising junior at Rutgers University New Brunswick studying Computer Science and Psychology with a minor in Visual Arts. She is currently involved with her school's chapter of Engineers Without Borders and the Rutgers Animation Club.
