A 2008 publication by the US National Library of Medicine reports the following teen non-suicidal self injury (NSSI) statistics:
- 1/3 to 1/2 of US adolescents have engaged in some type of self injury.
- Cutting and burning are the most common types of non-suicidal self-injury.
- 70% of teens engaging in self-injury behavior have made at least one suicide attempt.
- 55% had made multiple suicide attempts.

A new report just came out by Common Sense Media & it found that our children are spending on average 9 hours a day on technology like watching TV, playing video games, reading, listening to music and checking social media. Marijuana edibles can come in brownies, candies, chocolate bars, chips, cookies, drinks, snacks, spreads and more. Edibles account for nearly half of accidental exposures. About twice as many kids visited the Children’s Hospital Colorado emergency room per year in 2014 and 2015 as did in years prior to the opening of recreational marijuana stores.
